United Airlines inaugurated service to Bahrain in April 2010, and Accra, Ghana in June 2010, which was the carrier's first African destination. With this addition, it has provided service to all continents except Antarctica. It has also launched service from Washington D.C. to Doha, Qatar via Dubai in May, 2012. The United Airlines baggage policy includes the following:
1) Carry-on Baggage
United Airlines allows 1 carry-on bag and 1 personal item which includes purse, briefcase and laptop bag per passenger fee free.
Carry-on should not exceed the following size: 45 linear inches (22 x 14 x 9 in) or 115 centimetres (56 x 36 x 23 cm) including handles and wheels. On the other hand the Personal item should not exceed the following size: 36 linear inches (16 x 11 x 8 in) or 89 centimetres (41 x 28 x 20 cm). Make sure both fits in the overhead bin or under the seat in front of you.
Jacket, umbrella, diaper bag, duty free items, and assistive devices (wheelchairs, walkers, crutches, strollers, child restraint seats, etc.) do not count towards your carry-on allowance.
2) Checked Baggage/Hold Luggage
2 bags standard and beyond that charges are applicable.
Maximum dimensions: 62 inches or 157 centimetres and Maximum weight: 50 pounds or 23 kilograms.
3) Baggage Fees
It is determined by: the type of fare you purchase, your destination, if you are active US military personnel, if you have status with United Airlines’ frequent flyer program, status with an affiliated carrier, or if you have a United Airlines sponsored credit/charge card.
United Airlines baggage fees for US domestic flights are; first bag: $25.00 USD and second bag: $35.00 USD; whereas, for the US international flights the first baggage is free and the second one will cost you $100.00 USD. Some routes even allow two checked bags as standard.
For the third baggage United Airlines will charge $150.00 to $200.00 USD and additional bags depending on the route.
4) Overweight and Oversize Baggage Fees
United Airlines will charge the following for U S domestic flights for bags that are greater than the standard 50 pounds or 23 kilograms i.e. 51 to 70 pounds or 24 to 32 kilograms: $100.00 USD extra per bag, 71 to 100 pounds or 33 to 46 kilograms: $200.00 USD extra per bag. Bags exceeding 100 pounds or 46 kilograms will not be accepted as checked baggage.
United Airlines will charge $200.00 USD extra for bags that are from 63 to 115 linear inches or from 160 to 292 centimetres. Bags greater than 115 linear inches or 292 centimetres will not be accepted as checked baggage.
5) Sports Equipment Fees
Sports equipment such as skis, golf bags, fishing equipment, hockey, and lacrosse equipment will be accepted up to United Airlines' size and weight limits and will count as one checked bag. Beyond that charges will be applicable.[+more]

Expanded Inflight Wi-Fi
United Airlines is focused on keeping you connected wherever you fly. So now you will find the service on all types of flights, from quick hops within the U.S. to long-haul international routes.
Young children traveling without a parent or legal guardian are considered to be unaccompanied minors. This service is available to ensure that your child is boarded onto the aircraft safely, introduced to the flight attendant, and turned over to the concerned person upon arrival at his/her final destination.
It is compulsory for children between the ages 5-11. Children between the ages 12-17 are not required to travel as unaccompanied minors; however, the service is optional for this age group as well. Moreover, children under 5 years of age are not allowed to travel unless accompanied by an adult. Fee for an unaccompanied minor is $150 each way.
Children between the ages 5-11 may travel only on United Airlines that are nonstop or direct. If a child between the ages of 12-17 will be using unaccompanied minor service, he/she will be accepted under the conditions specified for unaccompanied minor ages 8-11 years, and the standard fees will be applicable.
